Mark Jackson has out to leave ESPN for coaching jobs
Mark Jackson was hired by ESPN and has resumed his role as an NBA broadcaster, but that doesn’t mean he is done with the coaching profession.
The New York Post says Jackson has an out in his ESPN contract that allows him to leave the network to return to coaching. The contract also obviously allows him to speak with teams about potential openings.
Jackson reportedly has interest in the New York Knicks vacancy, but his name hasn’t been mentioned in connection with some of Phil Jackson’s favorites. However, that doesn’t mean team owner James Dolan does not have interest in him. Mark Jackson reportedly believes he has a shot at the Knicks job. It probably helps him that Phil is digging for candidates after being turned down by Steve Kerr.
