Markieff Morris goes off on Bleacher Report for top 30 power forward list snub

Markieff Morris Wizards

Markieff Morris takes his place in the power forward hierarchy very seriously.

A day before his Washington Wizards played the Boston Celtics in Game 5 of their Round 2 playoff series, Morris blasted a Bleacher Report piece written in January that snubbed him from the list of top 30 power forwards in the NBA.

“Whoever wrote that is an a–hole,” said Morris, per Chase Hughes of CSN Mid-Atlantic. “[They] don’t know anything about basketball. You’ve never watched any basketball in your life if you don’t rank me in the top 30… I’ve been in the league for [six] years. All [six] years I have produced. To not be in the top 30 is disrespectful.

Morris’ averages this season of 14.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game would certainly seem to back up his assertion. But given that he has feuded with an opposing big man in each of Washington’s postseason series thus far, can we really be surprised by how personally Morris took the snub?
