Markieff Morris traded to Wizards for Kris Humphries, DeJuan Blair and pick

Markieff Morris

The Phoenix Suns finally managed to get rid of Markieff Morris.

Morris essentially demanded a trade over the summer and was fined for doing so. Then he acted out all season long before the team finally dealt him to Washington prior to Thursday’s trade deadline.

According to The Arizona Republic’s Paul Coro, the Wizards are sending a first-round pick (top-9 protected) as well as two players to Phoenix in exchange for Morris. They’re sending DeJuan Blair, whose contract is expiring, and Kris Humphries, who is owed $4.6 million next season.

Morris is averaging 11.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game this season. He will give Washington some depth in the front court as they have Marcin Gortat, Nene and Drew Gooden, which isn’t a whole lot.

Humphries is averaging 6.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
