Mavericks lift ban on ESPN reporters
The Mavericks recently caused a bit of a stir when they revoked media credentials for two ESPN reporters. The issue now appears to be resolved.
Marc Stein and Tim MacMahon were no longer allowed to cover home games for the Mavericks for the network. Earlier in the week, the two made a joint statement on matter. Here it is in its entirety courtesy of ESPN.
We want to thank our colleagues throughout the media and the NBA, fellow Professional Basketball Writers Association members and, most of all, ESPN readers and viewers who have offered such tremendous support over the past few days.
The circumstances that led the Mavericks to deny us entry to their home games remain very difficult to understand, given that the NBA has always been one of the most media-friendly leagues in the world. Yet we’re hopeful that a resolution is near.
Until then, nothing about the objective and aggressive manner in which we cover the league and its teams will change.
Now, it appears a resolution has been reached that will resume business as usual for both Stein and MacMahon.
It would appear that Mavs' pointless and profoundly misguided ban of ESPN reporters has been lifted. Though their statement fails to say so. pic.twitter.com/kuYjy6S5b2

Cuban reportedly had become displeased with the way his team has been covered in recent years, specifically that ESPN had no longer assigned someone to cover the team on a full-time basis. Thankfully, both sides were able to come to an agreement, with assistance from commissioner Adam Silver.
