Metta World Peace has legendary quote after possible last game at Staples Center
It wasn’t quite the Kobe Bryant farewell, but the Los Angeles Lakers still gave Metta World Peace a nice send-off on Tuesday night in what very well might have been his final game at Staples Center.
After the Lakers’ home finale, a 108-96 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans in which he started and scored a season-high 18 points, the veteran forward had this great quote about the locker room celebration of sorts, per Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News.
Teammates doused Metta. Same thing happened to Kobe on his last game except 1 difference. Metta: "Kobe got Dom Pérignon. I got ice water."

The 37-year-old World Peace, who is in his sixth season with the Lakers spanning two separate stints, will be a free agent this offseason. If this is indeed the end of the road for the former Defensive Player of the Year, at least he blessed us with a final one of his trademark one-liners before parting.
