Metta World Peace thinks Drake could coach Raptors

Metta World Peace Lakers

Metta World Peace’s third eye remains wide open.

The retired NBA swingman spoke with TMZ Sports over the weekend in the wake of the news that the Toronto Raptors had fired head coach Dwane Casey. During the interview, World Peace expressed his belief that rapper Drake, the famed Raptors superfan and global ambassador, could coach the team.

“If he had the right staff, he could do it,” said the former All-Star of Drizzy. “He should do it. Yeah, he should do it. I think he could do it.”

For what it’s worth, Drake has served as a Raptors ambassador since 2013 and is perhaps the single most beloved figure in Toronto. But there has never been an NBA head coach as young as he is (31), and the whole zero-experience-ever-playing-or-coaching-basketball thing may work to his detriment.

As such, the “Take Care” rapper probably has as much chance of landing the Raptors job as World Peace does with his own coaching aspirations.
