Mike Brown a candidate for assistant job with Grizzlies, Warriors

Mike BrownMike Brown has not coached in the NBA for two years, but it sounds like he may be getting back into the business.

According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Memphis Grizzlies are pursuing Brown to be a part of new head coach David Fizdale’s staff. He also says that Brown is a candidate for an assistant coaching job with the Warriors.

The Grizzlies have been working to help Fizdale fill out his coaching staff. The first-time head coach is adding Nick Van Exel to his staff, working on adding J.B. Bickerstaff, and also looking at Brown.

Brown was a head coach of the Cavaliers from 2005-2010 and again for the 2013-2014 season. He was fired after five games in his second season as head coach of the Lakers in between the two stints with the Cavs.

Thanks largely to having LeBron James on his teams, Brown’s career head coaching record is 347-216.
