Mike Conley buys 500 playoff tickets to give away to fans
The Grizzlies are returning to Memphis for Game 3 of their playoff series with the San Antonio Spurs, and there will be a few hundred fans attending the game at FedEx Forum courtesy of Mike Conley.
The Grizzlies point guard purchased 500 tickets to Thursday’s game against the Spurs that he is giving away to fans. According to a release by the team, Conley will give the tickets away after practice on Wednesday on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be a limit of two per person.
This is Conley’s 10th season in the NBA, all with the Grizzlies. He has been one of the league’s more underrated and underappreciated players for much of his career, but has been a fan favorite among fans in Memphis. The team rewarded Conley with a massive $153 million contract last summer and he used a portion of it to make sure some fans get to take in the game for free. Pretty cool gesture, indeed.
The Grizzlies are in the postseason for the seventh consecutive season and will need their great fans more than ever with Memphis down 2-0 in their first round series against San Antonio.
