Nuggets coach Mike Malone offering $10 to every fan who attends game vs Clippers

Denver Nuggets coach Mike Malone is taking marketing into his own hands.

In an appearance Thursday on “The Vic Lombardi Show,” Malone revealed an added perk for fans who attend a Feb. 27 home game against the LA Clippers.

“Any fan that comes to the Pepsi Center that night, we’re going to give a ten-dollar voucher for them to use at their discretion,” said Malone, according to the Nuggets’ official site. “You want to buy a beer, a soda, a pretzel, nachos, whatever it is. That is us saying ‘thank you’ for making Pepsi Center one of the toughest places to play in the NBA.”

Granted, the Nuggets rank only 22nd in average attendance this season and have been playing to just 87.3 percent capacity, per ESPN. But the gesture appears to be sincere enough since the team is the Western Conference playoff picture (currently the No. 6 seed) and has a tremendous 23-7 record at home.

When you consider the creativity that Denver fans have brought to the table this season as well, it’s easy to see why they deserve a little something extra.
