Mitch McGary to be waived, looking to play abroad
The Oklahoma City Thunder are planning to waive big man Mitch McGary, and he is looking to continue his career elsewhere.
The Vertical’s Shams Charania reported on Monday that OKC plans to waive McGary and Ronnie Price.
McGary, a former first-round pick out of Michigan, was set to miss 15 games this season due to violations of the league’s anti-drug policy.
In addition to his 15-game suspension by the NBA, McGary had a year-long suspension by the NCAA for marijuana use that led him to declare for the draft early.
McGary is looking to continue his playing career abroad, potentially in Europe or China.
