Mo Williams takes shot at Cavs before undergoing surgery?

Mo Williams has had a complicated relationship with the Cleveland Cavaliers dating back to last season, and he reiterated that on Wednesday as he was waiting to undergo surgery.

Williams revealed on Twitter that doctors told him his injury (presumably the knee that bothered him throughout the season) is worse than initially believed. He then posted a cryptic message on Instagram that appeared to be a clear shot at the Cavs.

“You know the crazy thing is, I haven’t been a 100% in quite a while,” Williams wrote. “Nobody and I repeat nobody actually gave a damn about my health but me. Taking control of my own career/life. #differentmindsetasoftoday.”

Williams was used sparingly off the bench in Cleveland last season, averaging just 8.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists while playing 18.2 minutes per game. After announcing last month that he would return for one more season, the 33-year-old changed his mind less than a week later.

Why Williams had the sudden change of heart is unclear, but his posts on Wednesday seem to indicate he was at odds with the Cavs. Perhaps Cleveland spent too much time paying attention to this guy and not enough to Williams.
