Pacers have not discussed contract extension with Frank Vogel

Frank-Vogel-Heat-floppersThe Indiana Pacers were eliminated from the playoffs on Sunday, and now they must make a decision on their head coach.

Frank Vogel’s contract is expiring, and there has been no talks of an extension, according to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Woj also indicates that Vogel would have plenty of interest on the market if he became a free agent:

Vogel signed a contract extension in Oct. 2014 but could already be looking for a new job at some point soon.

Team exec Larry Bird isn’t giving any guarantees about Vogel’s job:

Vogel has been the Pacers’ head coach since taking over midway through the 2010-2011 season. His teams have made the playoffs in five of the six seasons he’s been head coach, with the lone exception coming last season when Paul George was recovering from a broken leg. He has led the Pacers to the conference finals twice.

The Pacers’ season came to an end Sunday when they lost to the Raptors 89-84 in Game 7.
