Paul George ripped by judge for being deadbeat dad

Paul George PacersPaul George has been trying to prove for the past several months that he is not the father of a 5-month-old baby whose mother is a former stripper. The woman, Daniela Rajic, claimed when she was seven months pregnant that George is the father. The Indiana Pacers star has not ruled out that the child is his, but it seems clear he plans to do nothing until there is proof.

While the case has been dragged out and there has not yet been a paternity test, the New York Post reports that a Manhattan judge “slammed” George in court recently for doing all he can to avoid taking responsibility for the child.

“Even though it is all but certain that [George] is the father of the 5-month-old baby girl at the center of this case, he has gone to every length imaginable to avoid taking responsibility for his actions,” Justice Matthew Cooper reportedly wrote in his ruling.

A previous report indicated that George offered Rajic $1 million to not have the baby, though George has vehemently denied that claim.

George’s legal team has delayed the paternity ruling by asking that the case be moved to federal court and then starting a competing preceding in Florida when that request was denied. While Cooper noted that the couple first slept together at a hotel in Miami, the child was allegedly conceived in California and born in New York. The paternity ruling has to come from the state where the child was born.

Rajic’s lawyer said his client was “gratified” by Cooper’s ruling. If it turns out that George is the father of the child, he’s going to look pretty bad for going to these lengths to prove he is not.
