Rajon Rondo on relationship with George Karl: It’s not going too well

DeMarcus Cousins is not the only star player in Sacramento who is having issues with George Karl.

After the Kings played the Los Angeles Lakers in their fifth preseason game Tuesday night, point guard Rajon Rondo was surprisingly honest when asked how his relationship has been with Karl thus far.

“It’s not been going to well,” Rondo said, via a video shared by Cowbell Kingdom. “We got into a few arguments the last couple of days, but hopefully we can continue to talk and get better.”

This isn’t the first time Rondo has been open about having disagreements with his coaches. Back in March, he told Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports that he gets into it with all of his coaches and still has great relationships with many of them. The most extreme example was when Rondo had a falling out with Rick Carlisle and the Dallas Mavericks in the middle of the postseason last year.

Karl’s issues with Cousins have already been well-documented (did you see their awkward handshake?), but the veteran coach believes he can fix them. Apparently he has some work to do with his starting point guard, too.
