Rams held off on announcing trade out of respect for Kobe Bryant
The Los Angeles Rams announced on Thursday that they have completed a trade with the Tennessee Titans that will allow them to pick first overall in the upcoming draft. The deal was actually agreed to on Wednesday night, but the Rams didn’t want to steal Kobe Bryant’s thunder.
NFL.com’s Mike Silver reports that Rams head coach Jeff Fisher felt that Wednesday should strictly be Kobe’s night.
If you're wondering why this trade didn't get announced yesterday… Well, Jeff Fisher felt Wednesday belonged to Kobe. It's an LA thing.

While you might laugh at the thought of a Rams-Titans trade taking attention away from Mamba Night, the swap certainly was a big one.
The Rams gave up the No. 15 overall pick, two second-round picks and a third-round pick in this year’s draft to move up. Tennessee will also get L.A.’s first-round and third-round picks in 2017.
Case Keenum was named the starting quarterback of the Rams last month, and that could still hold true — at least to begin the season. However, the goal now for L.A. is obviously to draft either Jared Goff or Carson Wentz. The trade also makes it more likely that this quarterback will not get a chance to play for the Rams in their new city.
