Reggie Jackson cleared to return to basketball activities

Reggie Jackson stunned

The Detroit Pistons have won four of their first six games of the season, and their fortunes appear to be further on the upswing.

Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy said on Sunday that point guard Reggie Jackson, who has been sidelined since early October with knee tendinitis, will return to basketball activities on Monday, four weeks into his rehab, per Rod Beard of the Detroit News.

Earlier reports suggested that the 26-year-old Jackson could return in late November, and he looks to be on track to meet that timetable if this latest development is any indication.

Ish Smith has done an admirable job filling in for Jackson, averaging 10.5 points and 7.5 assists per game thus far. But Jackson’s ability to run a structured, pick-and-roll-oriented attack has been sorely missed, and the Pistons will eagerly await his return to the court.
