Robin Lopez responds to Khloe Kardashian dating rumors
Robin Lopez responded to rumors that Khloe Kardashian might have interest in him with some fantastic sarcasm.
There have not been any reports that Lopez and Kardashian are dating, but a gossip item said the reality TV personality has interest in the Trail Blazers center.
Here is the item from the New York Daily News that started the rumors:
We’re told that Khloe Kardashian is “on the hunt for a new man” after her relationship with rapper French Montana, and she’s set her sights on Portland Trailblazers center Robin Lopez. Take note, Robin: The last time a Kardashian drafted an NBA player as a boyfriend, she divorced him after 72 days. Lopez is the twin brother of the Brooklyn Nets’ Brook Lopez and has been linked to golfer Michelle Wie.
As the item states, Kardashian is targeting Lopez but has not begun dating him.
When told of the rumor, Lopez, who is out 6-7 weeks with a broken hand, had a funny response.
“You know, I’m not exactly certain of the veracity of those rumors,” Lopez said via the Blazers’ site. “But what I can comment on, I suppose, is the fabrication of that power couple by the press. Obviously they were looking for two people with a lot of influence on popular culture, on the youth, and they were looking for two movers and shakers. Frankly, I’m not surprised they came up with my name.”
That’s the exact sort of high-brow humor you could expect from a man who attended Stanford. Lopez even sarcastically suggested that he and Khloe could paint the town red now that he has time on his hands because of his injury.
“I’ve got a lot more free time for magazine shoots, guest hosting duties on TV shows and stuff,” said Lopez. “They can contact my agent if they want to. I’m also the associate video guy. That’s one of my new duties. Got a wealth of opportunities even though I’ve only got one hand right now.”
With a guy who cracks jokes like this, is it a surprise he responded the way he did? Of course not.
