Rockets hire Chuck Hayes as player personnel scout
A familiar face is returning to the Houston Rockets.
Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reported on Friday that former Rockets big man Chuck Hayes is joining the team as a player personnel scout.
The 34-year-old Hayes, who was employed in a similar role with the Denver Nuggets last year, played with the Rockets for his first six career seasons from 2005 to 2011 before returning to the team in 2015 for his last stint as a player in the NBA. He was known as a fan favorite during his time in Houston and helped contribute to three straight 50-win seasons from 2006 to 2009.
We are seeing more NBA teams hire beloved ex-players to management positions these days, and Hayes is just the latest example of that.
