Russell Westbrook gets 10-year deal from Jordan Brand

Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook still has not decided if he will be committing to the Oklahoma City Thunder long term, but he has made a different long-term commitment.

ESPN’s Nick DePaula says Westbrook has signed a 10-year extension with Nike’s Jordan Brand.

Westbrook has been with Jordan Brand since 2013, when he signed a five-year deal with the division after previously being with Nike. His current deal was set to expire next fall, and the pay raise reportedly kicks in retroactively to apply to last season. The new deal keeps Westbrook with Jordan Brand through 2025-26.

Westbrook has increasingly raised his profile each year that he’s been in the league, culminating with winning the NBA MVP award this year.

One cool part of the deal is that Jordan Brand will now embark on giving Westbrook his own shoe line for the first time. The shoe line will be for shoes both on and off the court. The off-court shoes should be interesting, especially given Westbrook’s unique fashion sense.
