Russell Westbrook bristles at question about his late-game airballs
Russell Westbrook and the media are not exactly the best of bedfellows, and that was proven true once again on Thursday night.
The San Antonio Spurs defeated Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder 103-99 in a game where the reigning MVP airballed two deep threes down the stretch of the fourth quarter. Speaking with reporters afterwards, Westbrook was asked if he at all regretted the shots that he airballed and seemed visibly annoyed by the question.
Russell Westbrook wouldn’t say whether or not he wishes he hadn’t taken the two airball 3s late in the fourth: “What you think?…You know me.” pic.twitter.com/4l581iMxRg

“What you think?” replied Westbrook before walking away. “You know me.”
In total, Westbrook finished 7-of-19 from the field for 19 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists. Meanwhile, the loss dropped the Thunder to the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference, just 2.5 games ahead of the ninth-place LA Clippers.
As much as his intensity and overall competitiveness on the court make Westbrook who he is, the same has to be said about his surliness with the press off of it. That is something that we have witnessed many times now.
