Russell Westbrook’s new Jordan ad takes another shot at Kevin Durant?

Kevin Durant Russell Westbrook

The relationship between Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant was never fantastic to begin with, and it has clearly become rather icy now that Durant left Oklahoma City. The Jordan Brand is taking full advantage of that.

Westbrook’s latest Jordan ad spot, which promotes his new Westbrook 0.2 sneakers, appears to take yet another shot at Durant. The lyrics “now I do what I want” playing over the commercial can’t be a coincidence.

This is already the second time that the Jordan Brand has tried to capitalize on the Westbrook-Durant divorce. Though, the ad that was released back in August was a bit more subtle. You can see that video here.

Durant has an endorsement deal with Nike, which produces the Jordan Brand. That might lead some to believe that Jordan wouldn’t take shots at Durant with its Westbrook commercials, but we all know money talks. With some of the things Westbrook and Durant have said about each other publicly in recent months, this ad campaign may be the best way to go.
