Russell Westbrook did not pay attention to Kevin Durant debut with Warriors

Kevin-Durant-Russell-Westbrook

Russell Westbrook had a very simple answer when asked if he paid any attention to Kevin Durant’s Golden State Warriors debut.

“Nah,” Westbrook said Wednesday when asked if he’d watched any of Tuesday night’s games, via Royce Young of ESPN.

Westbrook repeated that when asked if he’d seen any of the scores, which would have included Golden State’s decisive home loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

“I was doing something you guys probably don’t want to hear about,” Westbrook said.

Regardless, the media pressed, and we were given a full rundown of Westbrook’s Wednesday evening, none of which involved basketball.

“I played cards, man,” Westbrook. “I was just chilling, minding my own business, eating a nice dinner, talking to my wife on the phone. Took a nice shower. I used Dove soap. Brushed my teeth, washed my face and went to sleep. Put a movie on before I went to sleep, and that’s what I did.”

There’s no love lost between Westbrook and Durant. While the Thunder guard has a longstanding philosophy of not really watching other games, there looks to have been a bit more edge to this.
