Russell Westbrook’s new Jordan ad takes shot at Kevin Durant?
A new ad spot for Jordan Brand featuring Russell Westbrook was released this week, and it may or may not include a veiled swipe at Kevin Durant.
The 30-second commercial shows Westbrook running down a basketball court that eventually turns into an airplane runway. The only words in the ad are “some run, some make runways.”

Of course, many people believe the hidden message is that Durant ran from Oklahoma City to sign with the Golden State Warriors. It should be noted that Durant has an endorsement contract with Nike, which produces the Jordan Brand. Would the company, albeit via a different division, openly take a shot at one of its most popular clients?
You never know. It’s pretty obvious that Westbrook is not Durant’s biggest fan anymore, so perhaps the marketing experts felt that would be a good angle to take. Whether intentional or not, the buzz is almost certainly welcomed.
