Shaq, Charles Barkley get personal in heated argument over DeMar DeRozan

Charles Barkley

Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal are both Hall of Fame players with huge personalities, and their wildly entertaining debates can sometimes turn personal. We saw an example of that on Tuesday night when they “discussed” DeMar DeRozan’s relationship with Raptors head coach Dwane Casey.

The argument began when Barkley said a team is “never going to win” if the coach doesn’t have a good relationship with his best player. Shaq strongly disagreed, noting that he did not see eye-to-eye with Pat Riley when he won a championship with the Heat. Barkley quickly pointed out that Dwyane Wade was the best player on that Miami team, and things got heated in a hurry.

Here are some of the highlights:

“You got babied, that’s why you didn’t win.”

“I didn’t have Dwyane Wade and Kobe Bryant carrying me up and down the court!”

“I got three finals MVPs, Chuck! Google me, Chuck!”

This is why TNT’s “Inside the NBA” is arguably the best show in sports. You never know what you’re going to get. One day Shaq is chasing Chuck around and trying to nail him with a fish, and the next the two are getting personal about their respective playing careers. Both are good for ratings.
