Sixers pizza promotion changed due to team’s winless start to season

sixers-logoThe Philadelphia 76ers are going through a rebuilding process and a byproduct is the team is pretty dreadful at the moment. The Sixers are the only winless team in the NBA and are well on their way to securing a spot in next year’s NBA Draft Lottery. From that standpoint, things are going according to plan.

No one expected Philadelphia to be good this season. However, they’ll finish with a handful of victories because they’ll catch an opponent on an off night every now and then or there will be a few games the Sixers put it all together and catch a team by surprise. Over the course of an 82-game season, those things happen.

Unfortunately, neither has happened to this point. So, the Sixers are 0-11.

As a result, Papa John’s has decided to revise a promotion it announced in October that would grant a 50% discount on online orders the day after a Sixers win with a promotional code. Obviously, no one has been able to take advantage of the offer yet, so now the team doesn’t have to win for fans to receive cheaper pizza. All they have to do is score 90+ points.

On a positive note, the Sixers have met or exceeded the magic point total in five games. That said, it’s shame the original promotion had to be changed due to the inability of the Sixers to put numbers in the win column.
