Steph Curry breaks Game 6 open with 3-pointer from 3/4 court (Video)
Forget three points — Steph Curry should have been awarded five points for the shot he made at the end of the third quarter in Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals Friday.
At the end of the third quarter, Jeff Green was dribbling down court to try taking a 3-pointer before time expired. Green had his shot blocked by Andre Iguodala, and Curry alertly grabbed it and heaved the ball just before the buzzer. Since it was Curry attempting the shot, the ball went in like everyone knew. He’s probably a 20-percent shooter on balls from 3/4 court.
The Warriors’ lead went from 73-68 to 76-68 and gave them all the momentum they needed going into the fourth quarter.
After the game, Golden State head coach Steve Kerr said he wasn’t surprised that Curry made the shot. He says his team practices wild shots at the beginning of their practices. He also joked that he was conscious of his shooting percentages and probably wouldn’t have even attempted the shot, while Curry felt comfortable enough to let it fly.
And why not? Look at how hot he’s been:

Curry set his postseason career high with eight 3-pointers in the game. He had 32 points and 10 assists in the 108-95 win. The Warriors now await the winner of the Rockets-Clippers game Sunday to see who their opponent will be in the conference finals.
