Stephen Curry: Chances of return for Game 3 ‘pretty good’

Steph Curry sprained knee

Stephen Curry’s return could come much sooner than originally anticipated.

The Warriors guard was optimistic that he would be back before the team’s series against Portland ends.

Such a timetable would bring Curry back on Saturday the 7th, which is slightly ahead of the two week diagnosis he was originally given. It doesn’t come as a surprise given his determination to make it back ahead of schedule.

Of course, this is Curry talking, and not necessarily Steve Kerr or the Warriors medical staff. He felt ready to return before he actually did against Houston as well. He may be held back a bit depending on how things go.

Moreover, there’s no use risking rushing Curry back if the Warriors are coping without him. They’ve already one Game 1 with relative ease, and if Golden State can make it a 2-0 series lead, there’s no real incentive for the Warriors to throw Curry back in action prematurely. After all, they don’t need a repeat of this that could put Curry at risk of missing a possible series with the San Antonio Spurs.
