Ty Lue hilariously explains why he won’t do what Steve Kerr did
Steve Kerr was the talk of the sports world after letting his players coach themselves during timeouts on Monday night. Ty Lue, the coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, was asked whether he would do something similar. He said he wouldn’t and had a great reason.
Ty Lue on which Cavs player he'd choose to draw up a play: "I wouldn't do that. They already say LeBron is coaching the team anyway. If I give him the clipboard they're really going to say that, so nah, I wouldn't do that."

Well, Lue is many things, but you can’t say he’s unaware. The guy certainly knows what people are saying, and he’s right.
Most view James as not only a coach, but also the GM (until recently). If Lue were to let James coach in a timeout, there would be no end to the jokes about who has the authority on the team, which was one of the issues with David Blatt.
