Udonis Haslem jokes he will use his 6 fouls on ex-teammates Dwyane Wade, LeBron

LeBron James Udonis Haslem

If Dwyane Wade is really on the verge of signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers to reunite with LeBron James, you can count Udonis Haslem among those who are anxious to face the duo this upcoming season.

Haslem, who has spent all 14 seasons of his NBA career with the Miami Heat and won two championships with Wade and LeBron, joked on Tuesday that he might have to ask Erik Spoelstra for some extra minutes when the Heat play the Cavs so he can use up his six fouls.

“I’m gonna put my special request in for some minutes in that game,” Haslem joked. “I’ll definitely have five fouls, or six — how many fouls do you get before you foul out? Probably three fouls on each (James and Wade) and a flagrant for Dwyane.”

Haslem, 37, plays a limited role with the Heat now. He averaged just 8.1 minutes in 16 games last season and 7.0 minutes in 37 games the year before. If he wants to get his hacks in on LeBron and Wade, he’ll have to do it in a very short span of time.

It goes without saying that Haslem was joking. He spoke about how he still has a close relationship with Wade, and his recent comments about a possible reunion with his former teammate reiterated that.

According to one report, Wade was open to returning to the Heat before he ultimately decided he wants to play alongside LeBron for at least one more season.
