Watch: JR Smith called for flagrant foul after dirty play
JR Smith was called for a flagrant foul during the fourth quarter of Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Tuesday after committing a dirty play.
The Boston Celtics were lobbing the ball to Al Horford under the basket, who was not facing any defenders. Smith didn’t want to allow him an easy basket and decided to push Horford from behind, sending the Celtics big man to the ground.

Horford’s teammate Marcus Smart immediately ran over to stand up for his teammate and got into it with Smith.
Both Smart and Smith were called for technical fouls, while Smith also was called for a flagrant 1 foul. Horford shook it off and made both his free throws, as well as the Celtics’ next two baskets to pad their lead.
