Floyd Mayweather Jr. and rapper T.I. got into a brawl at a Fat Burger restaurant on the Las Vegas strip on Sunday. After several videos of the rumble went viral via social media, Mayweather spoke with celebrity blogger Necole Bitchie to try to explain the situation. The boxing champion also apologized to T.I.’s wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle.
The fight was apparently sparked by a couple of photos Cottle posted on Instagram recently. The first, which was posted on May 5, featured Cottle and several other ladies posing with Mayweather and a caption that read, “You already know!!! There’s nothing like being surrounded by “THE BEST EVER!!! Champion sh*t.”
The most recent photo that Tiny posted was over the weekend, when she posed with Mayweather’s 14-year-old daughter.
“Had to come celebrate with my new boo @moneyyaya Happy Birthday bae,” Cottle wrote on Instagram.
Tiny supposedly attended an after party hosted by Floyd at a strip club after attending his daughter’s birthday. That apparently set T.I. off, and he confronted Mayweather early the next morning at Fat Burger. Mayweather reportedly told T.I. to “control your b—-” during the brawl, so he apologized for that during his interview with Necole Bitchie.
“I don’t want to say that about Tiny,” Mayweather said. “So I do apologize to Tiny because she cool people. She never been disrespectful to me.”
He also said he never hooked up with Cottle or attempted to make a pass at her.
“I never slept with her,” Mayweather said. “I never kissed her, I never touched her in any inappropriate way. Her friend wanted to come to the fight, so she brought Tiny with her. Everything was cool, we were having fun.”
At the end of the day, I’m sure both Floyd and T.I. are enjoying the publicity.
