Manny Pacquiao banned from The Grove again over anti-gay remarks

Manny Pacquiao shoulder injury

When Manny Pacquiao openly opposed Barack Obama’s stance on same-sex marriage several years ago, he was banned from the upscale outdoor shopping center The Grove in Los Angeles. The ban was eventually lifted, but Pacquiao is once again not welcome.

According to TMZ, Pacquiao is no longer welcome at The Grove due to his “statements of hatred” against gay people. In 2012, The Grove lifted its ban when it appeared Pacquiao had been misquoted while quoting a bible verse. Not this time.

Pacquiao showed up at The Grove this week with several friends to see a movie, and Grove owner Rick Caruso told TMZ he does not want the Filipino boxer to return.

“These are statements of hatred,” Caruso said “A lot of people from the gay community come to The Grove and they have a right not to feel uncomfortable.

“Manny Pacquiao is no longer welcome.”

Last month, Pacquiao said in an interview that same-sex marriage makes humans worse than animals. He apologized but later posted a controversial bible verse on Twitter. We’re guessing The Grove ban will stick this time.
