Marcos Ambrose punches Casey Mears after Richmond race (Video)
NASCAR drivers shoving one another and getting into arguments after races is nothing out of the ordinary. We’ve joked in the past that auto racing gets more like WWE by the day, but actual swings are rarely ever thrown. On Saturday night, Marcos Ambrose punched Casey Mears directly in the face following the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond.
Ambrose finished 18th and Mears finished 19th. The two drivers raced hard toward the end and may have made contact with each other, which led to an animated discussion after the race. While the two were arguing, Ambrose unexpectedly wound up and socked Mears. NASCAR announced shortly after the race that it will review the incident.
#NASCAR's Robin Pemberton on Ambrose-Mears: "We don't think that it was anything too severe." Says will investigate more. #AskMRN @MRNRadio

Mears, who may be sporting a shiner this week, made a sarcastic comment about the fight on Twitter.
Had a good car tonight. Proud of the @GEICORacing team. Interesting end to the night. #13
