I didn’t get a chance to post on the original A-Rod and Madonna rumors that were floating around the last two days, mainly because I didn’t know what to make of them. Well, now it’s starting to look a heck of a lot more like those stories were true. Both the NY Daily News and the NY Post are saying that A-Rod and his wife have split up, though no formal divorce papers have been filed. I’m guessing this news has little relation to the recent stories about A-Rod and Madonna popping up; the same reports say Cynthia has been cozy with Lenny Kravitz of all people, even before these stories were printed.

Everything seems plausible given the fact that A-Rod, Madonna, and Kravitz all have the same manager, Guy Oseary. I guess it was no coincidence that A-Rod decided to hire entertainment managers — he wants an in on that world, and he’s certainly making the most of it. What’s crazy to me is that A-Rod keeps clubbing like nobody’s business. The way he’s going, he’ll soon be leading the American League in home runs despite his stint on the DL. Regardless of his love life and the best efforts of the tabloids to distract him, he still hits. That’s impressive. As for Cynthia, I never really saw it and apparently A-Rod’s over it. Hanging out with Kravitz in Paris the last four days? That’s nuts. Between the two, I’d say Cynthia’s overachieving and Alex’s underachieving. Just my opinion.

Nothing can get a player focused on the upcoming season quite like planning a wedding. Not to mention dealing with a wife and kids at home. With that in mind, I present the latest words from Kim Kardassian on her relationship status with Reggie Bush and the possibility of marriage:

“That’s definitely where we are heading,” the reality star told Usmagazine.com at a Celebrity Family Feud taping in L.A. Saturday when asked about marriage.

“That’s something that we do talk about,” she said. “I think that when you spend so much time with someone who is such a big part of your life, that’s definitely the future.”

Nothing quite like marrying a woman you know RayJay was all over filming vids. Something about that would just leave a permanent taint in my eyes. But whatever Reggie, it’s up to you. Some advice if I may: Tony Gonzalez. That’s a man who knows how to operate.

As if wearing a Giants hat to a Celtics game — in Boston no less — wasn’t enough to start a controversy, Brady may have had another trick up his sleeve. I don’t know where they get this stuff from, but the Detroit Free Press is a respectable enough source for me to share their words. Because this is just too good to pass up:

The Boston Herald had an interesting note about Patriots quarterback (and Michigan Man) Tom Brady bumping actor Leonardo DiCaprio from his usual courtside seat during the Celtics’ Game 7 against the Cavaliers on Sunday. Leo was relegated to a suite “way, way up” in the new Garden.

“Interesting?” the Herald wrote. “We think so, considering Leo has gone to more Celtics games and has spent more time in Boston than No. 12 has this year. But who are we to judge?”

I can’t seem to find that tidbit in the Herald, but that’s coming from the DFP. Pretty funny, if you ask me. I guess it’s just payback by Tom for all the drunk dialing Leo’s been doing to his ex, and Tom’s current, Gisele. Hmm, now I think I know who bought the nudie Gisele pic for 193k.

Credit Sports by Brooks with another Mitch Johnson-like dish today. Jason over at SbB caught the news that one of Stanford’s finest Twin Trees is dating none other than the most overhyped golfer in the world, Michelle Wie. This is quite the news considering it’s the first I’ve heard anything of the sort. With reason according to SbB:

Ramona Shelburne of SPORTS ILLUSTRATED pens a piece on a day in the life of Stanford’s 7-foot-1 basketball brothers Brook & Robin Lopez.

Robin is dating Stanford’s current most famous female coed, golf phenom Michelle Wie, although both have tried to keep things as quiet as possible.

Well, looks like the cat it out of the bag. The over/under line for the amount of times we hear this story over the next few days while Stanford plays in the Sweet 16 is officially set at 50. Man, you figure if either of them would bag Wie, it’d be Brook since he’s the better player. Then again, he and Wie wouldn’t have anything in common; Brook actually makes shots in the clutch.

Probably not the type of distraction T. Parker can use while his Spurs are on their rodeo, but looks like his wife Eva Longoria has been out getting cozy with Mario Lopez lately. It’s not much of a surprise that Longoria and Lopez are hanging together — their friendship is well-documented — but they’ve been known to have dated in the past. In other words, that can’t be a good sign for Tony and his relationship. Getting to it, Longoria and Lopez were spotted dining together in LA, and Mario was lavishing Eva with quite the gift:

Now I don’t know if Marcellus Wallace would consider this a foot rub, but where I come from, this isn’t exactly appropriate conduct for a married woman. It’s not much of a surprise on Mario’s end — rumors say that’s why Ali Landry divorced him — so this is just poor company for Eva, it would appear. Not exactly what Tony needs right in the heat of the playoff race if you ask me.

We already knew that Jessica’s pops approved of Tony. Heck, story goes that he’s the one who set ‘em up. Then again, this is the same dude who supposedly bragged about his daughter’s rackage, so that shouldn’t come as one bit of a shock. Well, now we know that the family support for Jessica Simpson’s boyfriend, Tony Romo, is unanimous. As Ashlee told US Magazine:

“I love him!” the singer, 23, gushed to Usmagazine.com at the FUSE TV Grammy party at Goa nightclub in Hollywood last night.

When asked if she is happy for Jessica, she replied, “Absolutely happy. He is really cool.”

Added Ashlee’s beau, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz: “He is a cool dude.”

Well, he’s on TV just as much as you guys, he threw for a Cowboys record 36 touchdowns this year, and he’s the quarterback of the Dallas freaking Cowboys. Doesn’t get much better than that. How could he not be a cool guy sporting a resume of that sort. I’m not sure how they all got to know each other. Maybe it was at one of the sing-along parties, or who knows, could’ve been in Mexico. And let me tell you, between Carrie Underwood, Sophia Bush, and now Jessica Simpson, Romo certainly has quite the dating resume.
