Dan Gilbert Sacked by the LBS Nut Bag for Pathetically Attacking Writer Kelly Dwyer

Over the past year we’ve come to learn that Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert is quite the jackass. The night LeBron James decided to leave Cleveland for Miami, a livid and chilidish Gilbert fired off an angry letter to the fans ripping LeBron to shreds. Then a few months later he continued to rip LeBron, only this time on twitter. Then in December we learned Gilbert was hiring a law firm to investigate the Miami Heat for tampering. Yeah, this guy is quite the jerk, and for all his offenses he is formally getting sacked by the LBS Nut Bag.

Gilbert’s latest juvenile display includes mocking Yahoo! Sports writer Kelly Dwyer who had predicted the Cavs would win 12 games this season, as I learned from Cleveland sports site Waiting for Next Year.

After the Cavs beat the Kings Wednesday night, a fan pointed out to Gilbert that the Cavs won their 13th game thereby surpassing Dwyer’s prediction. Gilbert then replied “Who is Kellie Dwyer?” He followed it up saying “How long has Kellie been writing? Never heard of her.”

Sacked by the LBS Nut Bag: Nai Fotu DUI Arrest, Driving Wrong Way on Highway

Miguel Cabrera led things off for our LBS Nut Bag feature when he was “sacked” for smiling during his mugshot after being arrested for a DUI.  Early Sunday morning, Utah linebacker Nai Fotu joined him.  Fotu was arrested for DUI after police stopped him for driving in the wrong direction on the highway.  It goes without saying that he was completely shattered, but the video and audio taken by the dash cam in the cruiser is priceless.

Deadspin also shared with us that Fotu already had a warrant out for “giving false personal information to police, unlawful possession of alcohol or a controlled substance by a minor and public urination following a March 2009 incident” at the time of his arrest.  Apparently some people just don’t get it.  Check out the arrest video and enjoy some of the brilliant comments made by Fotu as he was undergoing a field sobriety test.

Fotu’s blood alcohol was reportedly three times the legal limit, so I guess we can’t blame him for having no idea what was going on. I thought football players were big enough guys that they would have a high tolerance, but Fotu said he only had one or two beers. I believe him, don’t you?

Miguel Cabrera Mugshot Was Turrible Sacked by the LBS Nut Bag for Smiling

We’ve got this new feature here at LBS we’re debuting and it’s called the LBS Nut Bag. We’ve decided that anyone in the sports world who deserves to be publically shamed here at LBS will be “sacked” by the LBS Nut Bag. Feel free to email in tips of anyone you think who needs to be sacked.

The first athlete to get sacked by the LBS Nut Bag is Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera. The 2010 AL MVP runner-up made headlines on Thursday, and it wasn’t for being the first player to homer in Spring Training. Oh no. Miggy instead was channeling his Tony La Russa in Florida, getting arrested for DUI and resisting arrest. The details from the police will no doubt make you laugh and cry.

    - When an officer asked who was with him, Cabrera responded, “I am going to f—— kill him” despite being alone in the car.

    – He drank from a bottle of James Buchanan’s Scotch Whisky on the roadside, in the presence of at least one officer.

    – He refused to obey instructions from officers, at one point saying, “Do you know who I am? You don’t know anything about my problems.” When one officer asked Cabrera to get into a patrol vehicle, Cabrera replied, “F— you.”

Who the heck drinks from a bottle of Scotch IN FRONT OF AN OFFICER and WHILE THEY ARE GETTING ARRESTED? This guy’s an Idiot with a capital I! Honestly, every bit that Miggy stands out from his competition on the diamond is how much he stands out from the average criminal in terms of stupidity.

Then, as if drinking in front of an officer and resisting arrest wasn’t disrespectful enough, he freaking puts on a giant cheeser in his mugshot. What is up with this guy? Who smiles after a DUI arrest? Someone who doesn’t care, thinks they can beat the charges, and someone that downright disrespectful. Jeezus.

It’s all really just a shame because we thought Cabrera had cleaned up his life after his drunked arrest at the end of the 2009 season that cost the Tigers the division. He supposedly got clean last off-season, put the drinks down, and had the best year of his career. And now he kicks off the 2011 season like this? Not good at all. Why can’t he get serious about his career and his life?
