Now it’s become pretty clear that a late night talk show host was in on the act, not to mention our friends at The Big Lead who first released the vids. It also makes a lot more sense that other large sports blogs failed to post the video — perhaps they were offered the opportunity to partner up and declined so they weren’t about to get caught up in the “oh my goodness” sentiment. So what’s the point of this rant other than for me to vent my frustration over being duped and to laugh at the company who paid for the ads but didn’t get the product mention? In an interview shared by The Big Lead, Chuck Liddell revealed that the video was filmed at his buddy’s house — pitcher Brad Penny. And once again we see that Brad Penny’s priorities are clubbing, mixing it up with celebrities, mixing it up with celebrities at clubs, and making money. Somewhere way down the line after those items listed above is baseball. Hope the Cardinals enjoy their new arm.

The next video has the second and third round action for your enjoyment. Walker certainly seemed robotic at first but he definitely dominated the entire round. The best part was his salsa music rump shake.

Walker is still the physical specimen he’s always been but he looks like he could use some strengthening work on his legs. The fight of the night though had to be Robbie Lawler’s KO of Marvin Manhoef — that was awesome!

Mayorga recently sued Don King for his inability to find him a fight and for alleged violations of the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act. In the interim, it appears he’ll begin preparations for a late-career run in MMA.

We’ve increasingly seen more boxers discuss the option of exploring the MMA frontier, Roy Jones Jr. being the most notable. Ever since recording back-to-back wins against Vernon Forrest in ‘03, Mayorga’s gone 3-4 including an embarrassing loss to Oscar De La Hoya. Given El Matador’s style, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him be part of one of those 7-second knockouts. Because he doesn’t hold anything back, you figure something crazy will transpire.

I don’t know if they’ll get the “Fight of the Night” reward but they’ll probably be up there. Maybe it will go to Couture and Nogueira who went the distance.

Even at 46-years-old, Couture still showed he has plenty left in the tank. They really put on a good show at the Rose Garden and proved once again how worthwhile some of these PPV buys are.

Apparently that was Takahiro Kuroishi getting knocked out by Ryohei Masuda in what I’m told was a fight from last year. Why it’s just now being circulated, I don’t know, but it is pretty damn funny. At least the entourages made up for the lack of action in the ring. That was almost as good as the double knockout video.

The fight might not have been stopped until late in the first round but it was clear that Carano never really had a chance. Santos dominated the entire match and pretty much beat the crap out of Carano with flurries of punches. If I were Gina, I’d be demanding a urine test right about now to check Santos’ level of testosterone. My goodness — what a beast.
