Akron CB Seth Cunningham accused of stealing bong in armed robbery

Seth Cunningham mug shotAkron senior cornerback Seth Cunningham was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly robbing a tobacco pipe store at gunpoint, The Medina-Gazette reports.

According to The Gazette, Brunswick police say Cunningham entered a 24-hour tobacco pipe store and waved a 9mm handgun in the air. He allegedly went to a display case and stole a water pipe (aka bong) valued at $447 and fled the store.

Police later spotted Cunningham in his truck sitting in the driveway of a home. They found Cunningham with the pipe and pistol. Fox 8 in Cleveland says he admitted to the robbery.

Cunningham was taken to the Medina County Jail. He posted a $30,000 bond on Wednesday and was released.

Fox 8 says Cunningham has been suspended indefinitely pending the outcome of the case.

So, I gotta ask, how do you think this whole thing went down? I’m guessing this guy was blazing late at night with the bros at the crib and talking about that awesome bong they always see at the store. He probably decided, “screw it, what’s mine is mine. I’m finally gonna jack it.” And he did. And he got busted. Smooth move.

Titus Young told ex-girlfriend I understand why OJ Simpson killed his wife

Titus Young mug shots

More and more disturbing news continues to come out about Titus Young.

The troubled former Detroit Lions wide receiver has been arrested three times in the past month, and his ex-girlfriend filed for a restraining order against him, the Riverside Press-Enterprise reports.

According to the PE’s John Asbury, Young’s ex-girlfriend filed for the restraining order on May 8, the day after it was widely reported that Young was arrested twice in one day the previous weekend.

Young’s ex, with whom he shares an 8-month-old son, was granted a temporary restraining order that requires Young to stay 100 yards away from her. The PE says the ex-girlfriend wrote in her filing that she is “afraid of what he is capable of doing.”

“He also has been in a mental help facility more than once and still believes that he does not have a problem,” she reportedly stated in the filing.

The ex-girlfriend, who lives in Moreno Valley, Calif., accuses Young of repeatedly waiting outside her home and threatening and harassing her.

“He would say things like, ‘I understand why O.J. killed his wife.’ He says. ‘We’re always gonna be a family and I’m always going to be his,’ ” the restraining order states, per the Press-Enterprise. “He got mad and yelled at my neighbors and tried to fight multiple people that he doesn’t even know.”

Young’s ex was also worried about him taking their son. She says he took their son and was headed to San Diego. He is accused of stealing items from a gas station in Laguna Hills while holding their son before his DUI arrest later that night.

Young’s father and the ex-girlfriend say the football player has a brain disorder. Young remains in custody after pleading not guilty to eight charges earlier this week.

Chad Johnson mug shot

A judge has issued a warrant for Chad Johnson’s arrest because the former NFL wide receiver violated the terms of his probation, TMZ reports.

According to TMZ, the Broward County District Attorney’s Office says Johnson failed to report to his probation officer.

NFL.com reports the Broward Sheriff’s Office says Johnson failed to meet with probation specialists on Feb. 15 and March 15. He also reportedly failed to show proof of enrollment and completion of the “Batterers Intervention Program.”

Johnson is on probation for his domestic violence incident with ex-wife Evelyn Lozada.

The warrant reportedly was issued on May 7.

Johnson tweeted on Thursday to say he was in Pasadena. He and former teammate Terrell Owens were also working out at Santa Monica College this week. Johnson played JC ball at SMC before transferring to Oregon State.

Titus Young arrested for third time in a week, fought with police

Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young was arrested for the third time in less than a week, this time for fighting with police after allegedly being caught breaking into a home.

According to Josh Katzenstein of The Detroit News, Young was arrested around 11:30 p.m. Friday night for allegedly breaking into a home in San Clemente, Calif. Young allegedly fled the house on foot after police arrived and then fought with them after a brief pursuit.

Young was charged with assaulting a police officer, burglary, and resisting arrest. Katzenstein says the former Lions second-round pick was still in custody as of Sunday afternoon with bail set at $75,000.

I’ll spare you from recapping all the details about what a numbskull Young is, but just remember he was arrested twice in a 15-hour span last week. The first time was for suspicion of DUI, while the second was for trying to steal his impounded car out of the lot. He looks significantly angrier in this mug shot compared to his last two.

Titus Young arrested twice in 15 hours, has great mug shot

Titus Young found out that setting records in the NFL is not easy, so he decided to try making history off the field. The former Detroit Lions wide receiver was arrested twice in less than a 15-hour span on Sunday, a Riverside, Calif., public information officer told Larry Brown Sports.

Young was arrested around 12:01 a.m. Sunday morning by a Moreno Valley Police Department officer who was conducting a traffic stop. The officer says he was waiting in a left turn lane getting ready to turn when a black Mustang came up from behind and passed him on his left. The Mustang, which was being drive by Young, went against oncoming traffic before turning left.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested Young on suspicion of DUI. The former Lion was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center and was cited and released after signing a promise to appear in court.

Then, later that day, Young was arrested again.

Young was arrested a second time around 2:22 p.m. for climbing over the fence of the towing company to try retrieving his car. He was arrested for burglary.

The DUI is a misdemeanor and the burglary charge is a felony.

Young was a second-round pick of the Lions in 2011, but he was released by the team after the season. The St. Louis Rams picked him up off waivers but released him nine days later. Young is currently a free agent.

Young was sent home from the Lions’ organized team activities last year after punching a teammate. He headbutted an opponent in Week 1, was sent home for the Thanksgiving game for sabotaging his team in the week before by intentionally lining up in the wrong spot.

We’re guessing Young’s days in the NFL are over.

Details of Young’s arrests were first reported by the Oakland Press.

Since he had two booking photos, we have posted the mug shots below for you to compare. The DUI one is on the left, while the burglary one is on the right:

Otis Nixon has terrifying mug shot after being arrested with crack pipe

Otis Nixon spent 17 seasons in Major League Baseball and stole a ton of bases. The speedster from North Carolina had some very good years during the prime of his career in the 1990s, but he looks like he would fall apart if he tried to run around the base paths these days.

The 54-year-old Nixon was arrested over the weekend in Cherokee County, leading to the terrifying mug shot you see above. According to a police report obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, his vehicle was stopped early Saturday morning and officers discovered he had a crack pipe on him and a small rock substance that was believed to be crack cocaine.

“Otis admitted to me that the substance was crack cocaine but it didn’t belong to him,” an officer wrote in the report. “Otis said the crack cocaine and the pipe belonged to his son.”

Police administered a field sobriety test and said that Nixon did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, although it appears obvious he was unable to figure out where the camera was when he was being booked at the station. Investigators reportedly also found an additional crack pipe, more crack rocks and a plastic bag containing suspected cocaine residue on the floor of the truck. Nixon said the drugs and pipe belonged to his son.

Where do you rank this on our growing list of fantastic mug shots, all of which can be seen here? There’s some pretty good ones there, but Smith definitely wins the award for washed-up athlete who looks the most like a zombie.

Yasiel Puig was driving 97 in 50-mph zone before arrest

Yasiel PuigYasiel Puig is proving that Los Angeles Dodgers pitchers aren’t the only members of the organization who can register high speeds on the radar gun.

The Dodgers prospect was arrested at about 1:00 a.m. on Sunday morning in Chattanooga after police say he was clocked doing 97 in a 50-mph zone.

According to the LA Daily News, the police report stated that:

“It took blue lights and multiple siren blasts to get the driver to stop. … The driver was clearly driving with wanton disregard for the safety of other citizen drivers as well as himself and his passenger.”

The Associated Press says Puig faces charges of reckless driving, speeding and driving without proof of insurance in Tennessee.

The Daily News notes that Puig was driving a BMW x35i at the time of his arrest.

The best strangest part of the story is that Puig says he was the designated driver in the situation. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t it the DD’s job to get inebriated passengers home SAFELY? Kind of hard to do that when you’re challenging Jeff Gordon for speed.

Puig is batting .333/.379/.648 in 14 games for the Dodgers’ Double-A affiliate in Chattanooga. The 22-year-old Cuban prospect drew rave reviews after crushing the ball during spring training.
