Chamique Holdsclaw reportedly tried lighting ex-girlfriend’s car on fire

Chamique Holdsclaw was arrested on Thursday after turning herself into Atlanta police for allegedly firing a gun inside her ex-girlfriend’s car during a wild incident on Tuesday.

Holdsclaw reportedly began following her ex-girlfriend, Jennifer Lacy, who had finished a workout at a church. After Lacy realized she was being followed, she pulled over, and that’s when things got bad.

Holdsclaw allegedly bashed the car’s windows in with a baseball bat, and then fired a round of shots in the car while Lacy was inside it. Now we’re learning that Holdsclaw supposedly was planning to light the Range Rover on fire.

According to WSB-TV in Atlanta, police reportedly believe Holdsclaw may have poured gasoline on Lacy’s car and tried shooting to start a bigger fire. And as TMZ shared, the person who called 911 told the dispatcher that Holdsclaw poured gasoline on the car.

Lacy and Holdsclaw dated for around four years, and Lacy broke off their relationship some time last year. The two were teammates on the Atlanta Dream in 2009. Lacy currently plays for the Tulsa Shock. Holdsclaw won three national championships in college at Tennessee, a gold medal at the Olympics, and she played 12 seasons in the WNBA. She has fought depression and even had a suicide attempt in 2006.

Holdsclaw was released from jail after posting $100,000 bond and is being monitored by an ankle bracelet. She is being charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of damaging property and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, per TMZ.

Holdsclaw reportedly feels terribly about what she did. It’s obvious she’s struggling mentally, so we really hope she gets better.

Jerramy Stevens avoids domestic violence charge day he was to marry Hope Solo

Minutes before LBS was set to publish a report saying Hope Solo and Jerramy Stevens were scheduled to be married on Tuesday, we received confirmation about their relationship and marital plans in one of the weirdest ways possible.

Stevens was in court on Tuesday for an alleged domestic violence charge on Solo. He was arrested for alleged fourth-degree assault early on Monday morning.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer says Hope’s brother Marcus called police to a house in Kirkland, Washington, because there were unwanted men trying to get into a party at the house early Monday morning. He reportedly used a stun gun while allegedly fighting them.

Police found Hope Solo with blood on her elbow, and they reportedly found Stevens laying on the floor of an upstairs bedroom where he claimed he was asleep, though officers believed he was hiding. He had dried blood on his shirt and reportedly had no answer for how it got there.

Police must make arrests on domestic violence calls, so they arrested Stevens on suspicion of fourth-degree assault because of the blood. He was in court on Tuesday for the alleged charge but was released after the judge found no evidence that domestic violence occurred.

King TV reporter Chris Daniels adds many more details to the story. Daniels reports that police said Solo and Stevens were arguing over whether they would live in Florida or Washington after they got married on Tuesday. He says court documents list Stevens and Solo’s fiance, and that they have been together for two months.

Being in court is nothing new for Stevens. We listed his legal problems at the bottom of this article. This 2009 Post Intelligencer article also details how bad of a guy he is. You honestly have to question Solo’s sanity for her to be with him.

Here are photos via Chris Daniels of both Solo and Stevens in court:

Carlton Fisk had a tremendous mug shot after DUI arrest (Picture)

DUIs are no laughing matter, but Carlton Fisk’s mug shot certainly is.

The Hall of Fame catcher was arrested on Monday night on DUI charges after driving his truck into the middle of a cornfield in Illinois, police reportedly said.

New Lenox Police received a call about a car driving erratically. Officers found Fisk in a cornfield, unconscious behind the wheel of his truck. An open vodka bottle reportedly was also found in the vehicle.

Pudge refused a blood test, and his car was impounded.

Let’s get back to that mug shot. Where the heck was Fisk looking? Camera’s over here, bro. It looks like he just got baked, $hitfaced from pounding about a case of beers, and lost a fight to a garden hose and rake.

Way to make a triumphant comeback into the news, Fisk.

Missouri thief yells ‘Go Cards!’ after robbing bank

Cardinal fever is in the air in Missouri, even for thieves.

A man who robbed a bank in Arnold, Mo., on Friday yelled “Go Cards!” on his way out, according to the FBI.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch says the man went into the First Bank at 3850 Jeffco Boulevard at about 1:15 p.m. Friday, handed a teller a note demanding cash and walked out with money.

He reportedly never showed a weapon, but he did manage to wish the Cardinals well before Game 5 of the NLCS. Either that, or he was expressing support for the Arizona Cardinals before their game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

The man was described as a 5’7″ white male who looks like he could be in his late 30s. He was wearing glasses, a full beard, and a dark blazer over a dark top.

We’ve seen other amusing examples of thieves expressing support for teams, so this just further proves even criminals are sports fans.

Larry Johnson allegedly strangled his ex-girlfriend until she passed out

This Larry Johnson character is truly quite the gem.

The former All-Pro Chiefs running back reportedly was arrested for battery with strangulation on Friday after allegedly choking his ex-girlfriend inside a Bellagio hotel room in Las Vegas.

This marks the FIFTH time Johnson was arrested for an alleged violent incident with a woman. We’ll run through the list later, but first, more details on this event.

Johnson was arrested at 4:30 a.m. on Friday and was said to be drinking before getting into it with his ex-girlfriend, who had marks on her face and bruises on her neck when police saw her.

The two reportedly had been partying and drinking together and went to Johnson’s room to catch up. Johnson reportedly became enraged when the subject of his daughter came up, and he responded by attacking his ex-girlfriend. He allegedly choked the woman until she passed out. According to TMZ, she told police she woke up in the 10th floor hallway of the hotel wearing just underwear and a see-through top, and that she had to bang on doors to get help.

The ex-girlfriend reportedly also told police that Johnson had attacked her multiple times in the past. Knowing that, you have to wonder why she would be going to hang out with him in his room.

Johnson supposedly bragged to police that he got off on past charges, but now he could be facing a minimum of two years in state prison if convicted on domestic violence charges. Given his history, we’re hoping they finally put him away.

Here’s a rundown of his past acts of violence against women:

Matt Barnes captured using homophobic slur in profanity-laced arrest video

Matt Barnes was caught on video using profanity and a homophobic slur during a July arrest, and he has apologized for his language.

Barnes was arrested on July 30 for an outstanding traffic warrant and for threatening an officer. The Clippers forward was released on $51,000 bail later that night, and now we have video that shows his alleged uncooperative behavior from that evening.

TMZ obtained and published video from the arrest, and it shows Barnes and his wife, Gloria Govan, appearing to give the officers a difficult time while resisting arrest.

The video shows an officer telling Govan, who was standing next to Barnes, to “turn around and put your hands behind your back.”

“For what?” she responds.

Govan continues to refuse to move away from her husband and complains that another officer wouldn’t tell them why Barnes was being arrested. She suggests the officers “pow-wow” and then let them know why the arrest is being made.

“And why don’t you ask [the] officer how he found Matt in the first place?” she asks one officer.

“Yeah, by f—ing stalking me, which is probably illegal,” Barnes chimes in.

Purdue kicks LB Dwayne Beckford off team after fourth arrest; he had bath salts

Purdue coach Danny Hope laid down the law on Wednesday, sending the message to his football team that three arrests in one year is acceptable, but a fourth is going too far. Just kidding.

Hope dismissed Dwayne Beckford from the team on Wednesday two days after the senior linebacker and team’s second-leading tackler a year ago was arrested for the fourth time in 14 months. Police arrested Beckford a week after they went to his apartment because of a verbal argument he had with a female acquaintance, the Journal & Courier reports.

Beckford turned himself into police on Monday after learning there were outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was charged with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of a synthetic drug. What was the synthetic drug, you ask? Bath salts, which reportedly were found in his bedroom.

It appears as if Beckford was going for some sort of collegiate athlete record for arrests. Beckford has been arrested four times since last June, which is when he was charged for a misdemeanor related to a hit-and-run incident.

In December, Beckford was arrested for drunken driving and possession of marijuana. The New Jersey-native was suspended for the team’s bowl game and kicked out of school, but he had been taking classes elsewhere in hopes of rejoining the team.

It’s nice to see that Hope is taking such a harsh stance in opposition to this sort of tomfoolery. Nobody gets arrested five times on his watch!
