Thiago Silva arrested after allegedly pulling gun on wife

thiago-silvaUFC fighter Thiago Silva was arrested on Thursday night after he allegedly went ballistic and accused his wife of having an affair. The light heavyweight reportedly drove to a jiu-jitsu school and threatened people before barricading himself in his home, where the SWAT team was called upon to get him to surrender.

According to a police report obtained by TMZ, Silva drove to a martial arts school owned by well-known instructor Pablo Popovitch in Broward County, Fla. He allegedly suspected his wife was having an affair with Popovitch, so he drove her to the training center and demanded that she bring Popovitch outside.

Silva allegedly pulled a gun on his wife and pointed it at her, telling her, “You have ten seconds to bring Pablo outside and if he does not come out, I will go in the gym and start shooting everyone.”Popovitch reportedly came running out of his gym to protect Silva’s wife, at which point Silva is said to have threatened both his wife and Popovitch.

Pablo then ran inside to call 911, which is when Silva retreated to his home. The incident began at around 8 p.m., and Silva finally surrendered to SWAT team members at around 11:15 p.m. TMZ attained a video of Silva in the back of a police car briefly speaking to a reporter.

“She wants my house, she wants my money.” he said. “Just don’t report this. Can you do that for me?”

When he arrived at the police station, Silva flipped reporters off as officers were booking him.

Silva was arrested on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and resisting arrest. A judge later threw out the attempted murder charge since Silva did not fire the weapon. The judge said there was probable cause for aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest without violence. He is being held without bond.

The arrest was the latest in what has allegedly been a pattern of domestic violence from Silva against his wife. Police say he accused his wife of cheating on him last month and she claimed he pulled out a revolver and shoved it in her mouth. She later obtained a restraining order against him.

Shortly after the story surfaced, Dana White told TMZ that Silva will “never fight in the UFC again.” He has been accused of using performance-enhancing drugs in the past. White has obviously had enough, whether Silva is found guilty of the charges or not.

Oklahoma State PG Stevie Clark kicked off team after allegedly peeing out car window

Stevie-Clark-Oklahoma-StateOklahoma State point guard Stevie Clark was dismissed from the team on Monday following his second arrest in roughly a month. On Jan. 1, Clark was found to be in possession of marijuana after a traffic stop for a seat belt violation. On Sunday morning, he was allegedly found peeing out of a car window.

Police reportedly spotted Clark at roughly 12:30 a.m. on Sunday urinating out of a moving vehicle that was being driven by someone else. He was arrested and released from jail a few hours later after posting bond. Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford told the Tulsa World in a statement on Monday that Clark is no longer with the team.

“We care about Stevie and wish nothing but the best for him,” Ford said. “We want him to find success in his future, wherever that may be.”

Clark, a 19-year-old freshman, was averaging 5.3 points and 2.7 assists per game in a backup role this season. He was suspended four games earlier this season for disciplinary reasons that may or may not have had to do with his marijuana possession arrest. If Clark could just pee in a bottle like a normal person, he might still be a Cowboy.

Mom admits to bringing 15-year-old daughter to Super Bowl to pimp her out

The New York Police Department has made a strong effort to crack down on prostitution in the New York City area in the week leading up to the Super Bowl. As we were reminded with the London Olympics last summer, major sporting events always bring an influx of escorts looking to make money by selling themselves. Unfortunately, some of them aren’t even 18 years old.

A 39-year-0ld woman named Yolanda Ostoloza was arrested early Thursday morning after police discovered that she brought her 15-year-old daughter to Manhattan to pimp her out to Super Bowl tourists. Court papers obtained by the NY Daily News showed that Ostoloza admitted to the crime.

“We came up here to work and make money with a pimp,” she told police. “I knew it was for escorting and prostitution. … I thought my daughter was just going to do the fetish stuff.”

Oh, well in that case — not. Detectives who were posing as a potential client agreed to meet the 15-year-old girl and pay $200 for her services at a hotel in Midtown just after midnight on Wednesday. As they were arresting her, the girl told police she was only 15 and that her mother was at another hotel waiting for her.

Police then drove to the hotel that the 15-year-old said her mother was at and arrested Ostoloza. She was charged with promoting prostitution and endangering the welfare of a child. Her daughter was turned over to New York’s child protective services division for the time being.

Talk about disturbing.

Justin Bieber mugshot is classic

Justin Bieber was arrested for driving while under the influence on Thursday morning after police pulled him over for drag racing. There are plenty of entertaining elements to the story, like the fact that he was reportedly driving with a suspended license and resisted arrest by keeping his hands in his pockets. But the best part has to be the mugshot that came out of it.

The mugshot is classic Bieber, with the pop star’s pearly whites showing and his hair spiked up in ridiculous fashion. Given the way we saw him dress at a Miami Heat game, it does not surprise us at all.

Also, Bieber was supposedly driving around with DeSean Jackson’s ex-girlfriend at the time of his arrest. Come on, Chantel — you can do better than that.

Javaris Crittenton accused of being part of drug ring moving hundreds of pounds of cocaine

Javaris Crittenton

Javaris Crittenton is known for two things: being the other guy in the gunfight at the O.K. Corral inside the Washington Wizards locker room that essentially ended Gilbert Arenas’ career in DC, and for allegedly murdering a woman in Atlanta. Sounds like quite the savory character, right?

Well I’m sure it comes as no surprise to you that Crittenton was arrested last week as part of a sting operation for a drug cartel that busted 20 people. TMZ has unveiled further details of the arrest, and they say Crittenton and his crew are accused of attempting to move 400 kilos of cocaine and 10 pounds of weed.

The 10 pounds of weed are surely enough to get a baby rhinoceros high for a month, but 400 KILOS of coke? Do you have any idea how much that is? That’s nearly 900 POUNDS of cocaine. 900 pounds. The entire city of Miami didn’t snort 400 kilos of coke in 1985. OK, maybe they did. But seriously, that is a ridiculous amount of drugs.

Crittenton was a high school teammate of Dwight Howard back in Atlanta and once a very promising basketball prospect. He was alleged to have joined a Crips gang upon being traded to Los Angeles in 2011, leading to the shooting. Police allege the woman he shot and killed was not the intended target. Instead, they believe he was trying to shoot a Blood gang member.

Crittenton had been out on bond awaiting trial for the murder case. He is in jail without bond.

Darren Sharper investigated for sexual assault in Louisiana

Darren SharperLess than a day after we learned that Darren Sharper was arrested on suspicion of rape in California, a report emerged saying that he is being investigated for an alleged sexual assault complaint in Louisiana.

“The NOPD is investigating an allegation of sexual assault filed against Darren Sharper,” the New Orleans Police Department told WDSU.com in a statement. “As with every case alleging sexual assault, information gathered is extremely sensitive and the top priority of the detectives is to protect the person who filed the complaint. Because this is an ongoing criminal investigation, we cannot provide additional information at this time.”

The incident between Sharper and the woman allegedly took place at a private residence in the Warehouse District. Sharper played for the New Orleans Saints for two seasons and won a Super Bowl with the team. The case is open and active.

Sharper was arrested Friday after being linked to two separate sexual assault allegations — one in January, and the other in Oct. 2013. He was booked in jail and released on $200k bond. NFL Network has suspended him for the time being.
