John McEnroe’s son Kevin arrested for buying cocaine

Kevin John McEnroe son

Kevin McEnroe, the 27-year-old son of former tennis star John McEnroe and actress Tatum O’Neal, was arrested Tuesday night and charged with cocaine possession after being caught making a purchase.

The AP says McEnroe was arrested in East Village in New York and was in possession of cocaine and a prescription medication.

McEnroe did not enter a plea at his arraignment Wednesday. His lawyer says there was “nothing remarkable” about the amount of nose candy he had in his possession. That’s what they all say. The NY Daily News says McEnroe was buying six small bags of cocaine, 20 oxycodone pills, 10 morphine pills and one anxiety pill.

Whatever Kevin learned about partying I’m sure he got from his dad:

Both John and Tatum have a history of cocaine use. Tatum even became addicted to heroin and was caught buying crack in 2008.

Titus Young arrested again on felony charges

Titus Young LionsIt’s been a while since we heard from Titus Young, which is actually a good thing. That’s why we’re disappointed to share that Young has been arrested again.

As the Detroit Free Press reported, Young was arrested last Wednesday on a felony charge for battery with serious bodily injury. The details and nature of the alleged crime are not yet known.

Young’s latest arrest came a day before Young was scheduled to make a pretrial hearing appearance for his May 2013 crimes. Young was arrested twice in a 15-hour span last year and is facing 11 charges.

Young is currently in custody in the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles. His bail is set at $105,000 and he was set for a Monday court date, LBS confirmed via the LA sheriff’s website.

Young was a second-round pick of the Detroit Lions in 2011. He had 990 yards and 10 touchdowns during his two-year playing career.

Jimmy Smith has happy mugshot after arrest for helping cocaine overdoser

Jimmy Smith mug shot

Does this look like the face of a man arrested for doing something wrong?

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith was arrested on Saturday night for allegedly disturbing the peace while assisting a woman who overdosed on cocaine at a Towson bar.

Police were called to The Greene Turtle after a woman was found unconscious in the bathroom. Smith was in the bathroom trying to assist her and told police he had done a photoshoot with the woman earlier in the evening. A small bag of cocaine allegedly was found in the woman’s purse.

Smith was trying to help the woman and allegedly would not follow officers’ orders when asked to move aside.

Details via The Baltimore Sun:

According to the police report, Smith was told that because he wasn’t related to the woman and wasn’t helping her that he needed to leave so that medical personnel could attend to her and Smith replied: “I am helping her.”

According to the police report, Smith was asked three times by an officer to leave the restroom before being ushered out to the hallway. Smith allegedly cursed at the arresting officer and asked him “What the [expletive] are you gonna do?” When told again to leave, Smith replied: [Expletive] you. What the [expletive] are you gonna do?”

Smith is the fifth Ravens player arrested this offseason, though he is by far the happiest. I think you have to let the guy go based solely on that mugshot. Nobody that happy could have possibly done something wrong.

FSU WR Jesus Wilson charged with grand theft scooter

Jesus-WilsonFlorida State wide receiver Jesus Wilson was arrested on Monday after he admitted to stealing a motor scooter and crashing it last month. Court documents that were obtained by the Tallahassee Democrat on Thursday said that Wilson, 19, is facing a charge of grand theft of a motor vehicle. We like to call it grand theft scooter, because it sounds funnier.

Wilson has been suspended from the FSU football team as a result of the incident. According to the documents, a man said he parked his scooter in front of the Love building on the Florida State campus last month and returned to find it had been stolen. Less than a week later, police stopped Wilson when they noticed he was driving a scooter that met the description.

Wilson claimed he borrowed the scooter — which was now damaged — from a friend but could not provide officers with any contact information for the person. On Monday, Wilson emailed investigators and admitted to taking the scooter because he saw the keys were in the ignition. He said he planned to return it and also admitted to crashing it.

As Hunter Pence could tell you, having your scooter stolen is no fun. Wilson, who played mostly on special teams last season, was expected to compete for a starting job with the Seminoles this year. Time will tell how much his idiotic decision will set him back.

Miami LBs JaWand Blue, Alex Figueroa admit to drugging and raping 17-year-old

Alex-FigueroaTwo University of Miami football players were arrested and charged with sexual battery on Tuesday morning after they admitted to police that they gave a 17-year-old girl alcohol and raped her. The players, linebackers JaWand Blue and Alexander Figueroa, have been dismissed by the team and suspended from school.

According to an arrest affidavit which was obtained by the Miami Herald, the incident occurred early Saturday morning at Pearson Hall on the Miami campus. Blue and Figueroa allegedly gave the victim a narcotic (or knew of someone who did) without her consent that made her “physically helpless to resist.” The two 20-year-olds admitted to buying the victim drinks and bringing her back to Figueroa’s dorm room, where they performed sexual acts on her without consent.

The victim reported the crime to campus police and Blue and Figueroa came forward on Tuesday. They were arrested and held without bond. Both former players were scheduled to appear in front of a judge on Tuesday.

Miami athletic director Blake James released a statement on Tuesday condemning the behavior.

“Earlier today, I permanently dismissed JaWand Blue and Alexander Figueroa from the UM football team,” James said. “The University has also suspended the students from school and barred them from all campus facilities while the University conducts an internal investigation and continues to cooperate with local law enforcement.

“Any allegation of a sexual assault is extremely serious, and the University will not tolerate conduct that threatens the sanctity and safety of our students and our campus. We hold all of our students — especially student athletes — to the highest standards of moral conduct. The University is committed to maintaining a safe campus environment for all.”

College kids make mistakes. When those mistakes amount to something like underage drinking, we tend to forgive them. What James and Figueroa have admitted to doing is disgusting. They should end up in jail.

Josh Gordon arrested for DWI

Josh-Gordon-mug-shot

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon was arrested for driving while impaired on Saturday morning. Matt Anderson of WKYC first reported the arrest, which took place at around 4:00 a.m. in North Carolina.

While it is unclear if Gordon was drinking or under the influence of drugs, Raleigh police captain Tommy Klein told Adam Schefter that Gordon appeared “appreciably impaired.”

Where do we even begin with this one? Gordon, who emerged as one of the best wide receivers in the NFL last season, is already facing a potential season-long suspension for a second failed marijuana test back in May. After word of the arrest surfaced, former Browns linebacker D’Qwell Jackson wrote on Twitter that Gordon needs serious help from those close to him.

Earlier this week, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that sources close to Gordon are concerned he will have a “hard time making it back into the NFL” if he is suspended for a full season. The 23-year-old’s latest arrest has his future looking even more grim.

WWE Diva Emma released after arrest for stealing iPad case

WWE Diva Emma mug shot

WWE Diva Emma was released by the wrestling organization Wednesday, less than two days after being arrested for allegedly trying to steal an iPad case at a Walmart.

TMZ reported that Emma was arrested in Hartford where security spotted her shoplifting a red iHome ‘Slim Swivel’ iPad Mini case, which was on sale for $21.14.

Emma, whose real name is Tenille Dashwood, was charged with misdemeanor larceny in the sixth degree, went to court and was sentenced to a day of community service. She supposedly claimed she forgot to pay for the case in the self checkout.

None of that mattered to the WWE, which announced Wednesday that they had released her.

“WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Diva Emma as of today, July 2, 2014. WWE wishes Emma the best in all her future endeavors,” they said in a statement.

WWE RAW also happened to be in Hartford the night of her arrest.
