Bryce Harper wears great ‘I love bad pitches’ T-shirt

Bryce Harper I love bad pitches

Bryce Harper is honest and self-aware if anything.

The Washington Nationals youngster has been in Potomac rehabbing from his thumb surgery and was spotted wearing the awesome T-shirt seen above. The shirt says “I love bad pitches that’s my problem.”

The shirt comes from a website called Routine Baseball. Here’s the fantastic description for the shirt, which is available here for $29.99.

You’re a free swinger. You don’t deny it. Leaving the bat on your shoulder just doesn’t make sense to you. You always say, “A baseball was meant to be hit… and if it wasn’t, then why give me this bat?” Leading the team in doubles and strikeouts is kind of like a draw, right? Time to work on your craft in the cage A$AP.

The shirt is awesome and suits Harper well. He is a power hitter with 43 career home runs and a .273 average, which is pretty darn impressive for a 21-year-old. However, like his shirt says, he is a bit of a free swinger and has struck out 235 times in 279 games. That’s one of the downsides of loving to hit the ball. Great shirt, though.

Mike Trout first MLB player since Ken Griffey Jr. to get Nike cleat

Mike Trout Nike cleats

Mike Trout is in his own category as a player on the field, and now he’s in elite company off of it.

Nike has created its first signature for a cleat for a player since they did with Ken Griffey Jr. The cleat is called the Nike Lunar Vapor Trout, and it’s part of an entire “Vapor Collection” of items/accessories.

The cleat, which is available as of June 20, was created with some of Trout’s insights and is lightweight and designed for speed.

Via Nike’s website:

The first signature cleat for star outfielder Mike Trout, the Nike Lunar Vapor Trout redefines the balance of speed and power in baseball and embodies the future direction of the game. Informed by Trout’s own insights, the Nike Lunar Vapor Trout is designed for the directional speed needed to steal more bases, get to more balls in the outfield, and get out of the batters box quickly. Equipped with a durable, lightweight Nike Lunarlon foam midsole for comfort, the cleat features a split Pebax speed plate for ultra-responsive movement across the field. The midsole also informs a lively aesthetic that captures the spirit of Trout’s game and Nike Vapor technology – sleek, modern, athletic, and extremely fast.

In addition to the cleat, the Vapor Collection includes sliding tights, batting gloves, a sleeve, a cap and socks.

Below is a video of Trout talking about the cleat:

You’re probably wondering how it’s possible that Trout is the first Nike player since Griffey to get his own cleat and asking about Derek Jeter. Yes, Jeter had his own cleat, too, but that was made by the Jordan Brand, not Nike specifically.

Forearm bash to Big League Stew

Ohio State to wear LeBron XI sneakers

LeBron-11-Ohio-State-sneakers

The Ohio State men’s basketball team will be wearing some pretty sick kicks for their upcoming games, courtesy of LeBron James. As you know, King James is an Ohio native and has always been a big Buckeyes fan.

On Tuesday, Ohio State’s official Twitter account shared a photo of two new sneakers that the team will be wearing. Both are the LeBron XIs and have slightly different red and white color schemes. They look pretty similar to the LeBron Xs that James wore last year for the Miami Heat’s opener against the Boston Celtics. I’m sure the players are fired up about it.

Tom Brady rocks phenomenal white sweater after comeback win

Tom-Brady-white-sweater

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has earned the right to wear pretty much whatever he wants. That was especially true after the incredible comeback win he orchestrated over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday with just over a minute remaining in the game. Had the Patriots come up short, he may have looked ridiculous in his white sweater.

Fine, he still looked ridiculous. But it wasn’t as bad as Rob Ryan’s face after his Saints defense blew the game. Brady looked dumb when Julian Edelman snubbed him on that high-five, but he could have worn a tutu to his postgame press conference and pulled it off. That’s what happens when you throw a game-winning touchdown pass to a rookie wide receiver with a few seconds remaining.

PS: Is that a red dot on that sweater? It can’t be.

AJ Green has sick custom Bengals cleats

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver AJ Green could have the best-looking feet on the field in Week 1. Thanks to an amazing artist from Dez Customz, it appears Green will be rocking an incredible pair of tiger-themed cleats for his team’s opener against the Chicago Bears.

According to Sneaker Files, Green personally requested the new kicks. They feature the Bengals team colors in addition to actual characteristics of a tiger with an eye looking out the side of the shoe. Green’s name is stitched across the back of the cleats. Here are a couple more pictures:

Miami Heat players mean mug in Game 7 T-shirt given out to fans

Miami Heat Game 7 shirt

The 15 members of the Miami Heat showed their best mean mugs for a T-shirt the team gave away to fans for Game 7 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night.

Some of the guys like Birdman Andersen appear to be squinting. Others like Dwyane Wade almost make it seem like it’s a modeling picture. And then you have guys like Chris Bosh, Shane Battier, and James Jones with the corners of their mouths turned downward for the tough-guy frown.

Perhaps the most notable aspect of the shirt is the prop on the bottom right. The Heat are chasing after the Larry O’Brien trophy, and they probably will get it. The T-shirt, like LeBron James’ shoes, seem to foreshadow another championship for the Heat.

Colin Kaepernick has a pretty ridiculous shoe collection

Colin Kaepernick shoe collection

You think Colin Kaepernick has enough shoes? The San Francisco 49ers star quarterback shared these photos of his sneaker collection on Instagram Thursday and, as you can see, his collection is pretty extensive.

Based on what he shared in the photos, a rough estimate says he has about 100 pairs of shoes. Kaep has a nice mix of casual shoes, boots, Jordans, cross trainers, and basketball shoes, not to mention kicks in about every color imaginable.

Pictures like these should come attached with a warning. Attention fans: do not try this at home, you could go broke.

You know what the funny thing is? Like they said in “Funny People,” the more money you have, the more free stuff they give you. That’s probably how Kaepernick was able to build part of his collection. Still, the man has a long way to go before he reaches Nate Burleson status.
