A Miami TV anchor made a gaffe while previewing Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals between the Celtics and 76ers on Saturday.

Sasha Andrade of WPLG, an ABC affiliate in Miami, mistakenly called the 76ers the 69ers. We’re not sure where she got “69ers” out of 76ers, but we’re guessing it was either some sort of Freudian slip, or she got them confused with the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers.

The good news for Andrade is that the Celtics won Game 7 to eliminate the 76ers, meaning she won’t have to worry about repeating the mistake.

She shouldn’t feel too badly — we’ve seen much worse.

Several Redskins were playing at the Leukemia Golf Classic in Oklahoma hosted by Brian Orakpo a few weeks ago, and as you can see from the video, the players aren’t exactly the best golfers. Jump ahead to the 1:15 mark to see offensive tackle Trent Williams fall over after whiffing on a swing. This is priceless:

With all the time he’s had off since his 3rd positive drug test, maybe Williams should have been working on his swing.

Caleb Lloyd got to live the fan’s dream at a baseball game not once … but twice on Monday night. Lloyd, a Reds fan who plays soccer at Thomas More College, caught back-to-back home runs during the Reds-Braves series opener.

The first ball was a homer from pitcher Mike Leake in the fourth that made it a 2-1 lead for Cincinnati. Zack Cozart followed with a home run, making it back-to-back homers for the Reds, and back-to-back home run balls for Lloyd.

“The first one I actually barehanded, ” Lloyd said after the game. “It hit my hand and I didn’t expect to actually catch it. I caught it, and then it bounced off the palm of my hand and I reached out and grabbed it. It hurt really bad, so I’m like, ‘I’m not doing it again.’ But the second one bounced behind me and then it bounced into my lap. My buddy’s like, ‘You caught a second one!’ I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is crazy.’”

Lloyd told reporters he wasn’t even planning to attend the game until his friend called and invited him that day. He gave the second home run ball to his friend and returned the first to Leake because it was the pitcher’s first career home run.

There’s actually more to the story: The Reds went back-to-back-to-back that inning, but Lloyd didn’t catch Drew Stubbs’ blast. Stubbs also homered in the first, so he went back-to-back in the game.

The only thing that ranks on a similar level for improbability was this Orioles fan catching three foul balls in the same game. As someone who’s never caught a home run or foul ball at a ballgame, I can say I’m truly envious.

Missy Franklin may seem like your ordinary high school student, but in a few months, she’s likely going to be an internationally known Olympic medalist. Before heading off to the Olympic Trials in June, and most likely London after that, the junior swimmer from Regis Jesuit High School in Colorado got a surprise send-off at her school’s annual “Senior Send-off.”

The students unveiled a banner that said “Good Luck Missy,” and Denver Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker spoke to the crowd, receiving hearty cheers from the female students.

Franklin addressed the audience before breaking out some dance moves.

“I’m going to try and keep it together. Honestly, I can’t even tell you how much this means to me. You are my life. I love you so much and knowing whatever happens this summer I still get to come home to you is the best feeling in the world,” she said.

The emotional send-off culminated with the outgoing Franklin doing some dance moves like “the sprinkler” and “the worm,” which is becoming more and more common in sports these days.

Franklin heads to Omaha, Nebraska next month for the Olympic Trials.

“That was so much more than I could have ever imagined,” she said. “I have the best friends in the world.”

SI MLB writer and MLB Network reporter Tom Verducci was doing a pregame report on “Ballpark Cam” prior to the Rangers-Angels series opener on Friday night when he was hilariously interrupted by Derek Holland. The Rangers pitcher began jumping around in the background and foreground of Verducci’s report, leading to an interview on camera.

Holland, who is know for his odd ball ways, remained in goofball character and gave a few short answers in the interview.

Asked for some insight about Japanese pitcher Yu Darvish, Holland offered up the following: “He’s good. He’s really good.”

Thanks for that effort, Derek. Dude really is a goofball.

Forearm bash to Hot Clicks

Dan Majerle was known as a sharpshooter during his days with the Phoenix Suns, but I think we’ve found an underrated part of his game: his hands. Majerle was hanging out in the center field area at Chase Field during the Diamondbacks-Giants game on Saturday when a ground-rule double from Gerardo Parra bounced over the wall. Majerle, holding a tray of food in one hand, snagged the ball in the other. He posed like a statue, clearly frozen in amazement over what just happened. Sweet catch, Dan.

By the way, I hope it’s just an issue with a bad TV feed, but it’s not a good look if his skin color is matching his red shirt. He might have to chill on all the tanning.

The kids on Teen Jeopardy! are supposed to be geniuses, yet none of them know who Eli Manning is? They need to put down their physics book and pick up a New York Post once in a while. OK, bad example. Maybe stop watching Nat Geo and start mixing in a little more ESPN. Alright, another bad example. I just know all the useless facts in the world are worthless if you can’t recognize the reigning Super Bowl MVP.

Side note: After watching that video, it’s easy to see why it was so easy to find a pool or jurors unfamiliar with Roger Clemens.

When you pay the prices that MLB teams are charging for a ticket to the game, you usually expect the most amazing thing you see over the course of the evening to happen on the field. As we have seen many times throughout the years, that is not always the case. We saw it again on Tuesday night in San Diego, when a foul ball somehow made its way into the beer cup of a Padres fan.

As you can see from the clip above, a few fans tried to snag the ball and were unsuccessful. That’s when the guy in the yellow jersey looked down and realized it had landed right in his brew. He didn’t catch the ball on his own which makes it slightly less impressive than what this guy did, but he still made things right when he followed through with the mandatory pounding of the beer. Sometimes it’s less about the execution and more about the adjustments.

We still say nothing beats this fan’s catch from last season.

What we’re looking at here appears to be (and Cubs TV analyst Bob Brenly would certainly agree so) a Chicago Cubs ballgirl during a break in the game against the Braves on Monday writing down her digits on a slip of paper for somebody. But what’s frustratingly unclear is who that somebody was. Was it that security guard she handed the message to? A fan? A Braves player, perhaps? If it’s the latter, Annie Savoy would be proud.

Of course, it’s completely plausible she was writing something totally unrelated. Maybe she was letting the clubhouse know she wanted a heater. Or maybe a turkey sandwich. But we certainly hope a love connection was made. Because if the Cubs aren’t getting lucky at Wrigley this year, we hope at least somebody is.
