The blond girl from the Giants championship parade who blurted out “Sanchezzzz” during an interview has a name, and it’s Samantha DeFalco. Samantha spoke with NBC New York Wednesday to explain her side of the blunder that made major waves on the internet Tuesday. DeFalco says she doesn’t watch sports and that she and her roommate were just there to take in the atmosphere. And how does she know about Mark Sanchez if she doesn’t watch football? She says she saw him in a fashion magazine.

So what’s the lesson to be learned here? Maybe posing in the fashion mag led to more riches than initially believed.

Fist pound Off the Bench

What do you get when you pair a Harvard grad with a former Stanford student-athlete? One of the nerdiest pregame handshakes of all time. Yup, Knicks guards Jeremy Lin and Landry Fields have developed one of the most unique pregame shakes you will see. Their routine features Lin flipping through pages of a book, the two taking off glasses, and placing them inside pocket protectors. Here it is in all its glory:

That no-good, evil, jokester of a television host Jimmy Kimmel came up with a scheme for a great Super Bowl prank, and the results are splendid.

Kimmel encouraged some of his viewers to unplug the television at their Super Bowl party during a key moment in the game. This practice is also known as “How to piss off 20 people in the same room in one second for $200, Alex.”

The guy with the Christmas tree, and the dude at the 2:45 mark were my favorites. Some of these looked staged, but others looked real, and they were spectacular.

Shaq made an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in October to promote an NBA Jam video game. The two played the game on the show and made a bet. Shaq lost the game and had to wear pink underwear on a two-block walk to the studios. He paid off the bet on Friday, stating that he’s a man of his word. I don’t know about you, but it sure feels like we’ve seen way too much of Shaq in his underwear lately.

Chest bump to Sweater Punch

One of the attractions at the Super Bowl in Indianapolis this week has been the zip line. NFL.com reporter Jeff Darlington spent plenty of time this week goading ESPN reporter John Clayton and finally convinced “The Professor” to take a ride. That went down on Wednesday. Unfortunately Darlington’s video doesn’t contain any footage of Clayton going down the zip line, so we’ll take his word for it.

Now the video you won’t get to see is Cris Carter riding the zip line. Wanna know why? Because he chickened out. Observe:

Yup, this humiliation is your payback for saying Calvin Johnson wasn’t elite. 96 catches, 1,681 yards, and 16 touchdowns, Cris. Eat it.

A camel in New Jersey named Princess has correctly picked five of the last six Super Bowl winners, and as you can see in the video above, she opted for the Giants this year. Princess makes her picks by choosing one of two crackers in the hands of the zoo’s general manager. On Wednesday, she chose the Giants.

In another video, Chef John Mitzewich of Allrecipes.com tossed some chicken wings bones and decided that their formation meant the Giants would win the game. Here’s his chicken wing toss:

This Ben Crane character is quite the hoot. Back in April, we shared the dance video he made to prove he wasn’t some boring stiff. Now he’s released a video called “The Lost Love,” where he talks about returning to his gymnastics roots. The video was made in tandem with Farmers Insurance and it was well done. Now Crane is challenging Bubba Watson for the title of bloggers’ favorite golfer.

You think he could do that again if he tried? As you can see, Glenwood High School sophomore Daniel Helm pulled off a miraculous shot during a recent game.  The only problem is he didn’t do it on purpose.  What is even more of a problem is that he accidentally scored a three-pointer for the opponent.  Helm made a hustle play and saved the ball in bounds, but he tossed it a bit too far and high and ended up throwing it right in the hoop. Talk about a one-in-a-million shot.

Fortunately Helm was laughing it off, so I’m guessing this wasn’t a make or break shot that cost his team the game or anything like that.  What do you think is more impressive: shots like this one and this one where luck is involved but the person intends to sink them or one like Helm’s that is just a complete fluke?  In my opinion, this one is more fun to watch.

Pacers mascot Boomer took a break from entertaining NBA crowds to put on a show at the New Palestine vs. Triton Central high school basketball game in Indiana Friday night. I have no idea if Boomer was planning to shatter the backboard, but that’s what happened. The good news is at least Boomer didn’t injure himself like the Milwaukee Bucks mascot.

At least he took it out on himself, right? The reaction you see above from Marcos Baghdatis came after he fell behind two sets to Stanislas Wawrinka in the second round of the Australian Open on Tuesday night. In case you had trouble keeping track, that was four racquets he destroyed. From my limited knowledge of tennis, I understand that the racquets these professionals use can cost up to a few hundred dollars. That means Baghdatis may have destroyed over $1,000 worth of equipment in one minute. Impressive.

On a positive note, he didn’t smack a ball into the stands or freak out on an official. He sat down on the bench like an adult, threw a hissy fit like a child, and came out and took the next set. Unfortunately, Wawrinka still ended up taking the match. You have to wonder if things would have gone differently if Baghdatis had more racquets to smash.
