Texas Tech coach Chris Beard deletes tweet about torn ACL
Texas Tech head coach Chris Beard is playing coy about a knee injury that he appeared to suffer over the weekend.
During a double-digit loss to Iowa State on Saturday, Beard was injured when his intensity seemed to get the better of him and he crumpled to the floor after letting loose a massive air punch from the sideline.

Chris Williams of Cyclone Fanatic reported at the time that there appeared to be “a lot of concern” about Beard’s knee because of the punch and fall.
Seems to be a lot of concern around here regarding the knee of Texas Tech head coach Chris Beard. He went down hard during the game. Hope it’s not too serious. Great guy. Big 12 is lucky to have him.

Fast forward to Tuesday. Texas Tech defeated Oklahoma State 75-70, and Beard tweeted a celebratory video from the locker room. He also seemed to reveal in his tweet that he tore his ACL as a result of the weekend incident.

Beard has since deleted the tweet. But in any case, this wouldn’t be the first time that he suffered a major injury in thoroughly bizarre fashion.
