Chris Jones was previously in bar fight, quit the team

Chris-Jones-flop

Senior guard Chris Jones was dismissed from the Louisville program over the weekend. The team made the announcement official on Sunday afternoon. If you believe one report about Jones’ behavior off the court, you should not be surprised.

According to Kentucky Sports Radio, Jones briefly quit the team a few months ago and was also involved in a fight at 4th Street Live in Louisville last weekend. The fight, which allegedly took place on Saturday, Feb. 15, resulted in Jones being suspended for Louisville’s Feb. 18 game against Syracuse. It is unclear if his dismissal from the team has to do with that alleged fight or a new incident.

As for why Jones quit the team following a 58-50 loss to Kentucky in late December, it probably had something to do with Louisville coach Rick Pitino benching him for his embarrassing flop during that game. Jones later admitted that he made a mistake. He was allowed back onto the team, but managed to keep his nose clean for less than two months.

Jones was third on the team with 13.7 points per game and first with 3.6 assists and 2.0 steals per game.
