Former UCLA and NBA player Tyler Honeycutt was reportedly killed in a shootout with police early Saturday morning.

On Friday evening, the Los Angeles Police Department reported on a man with a gun barricaded in a home.

On Saturday morning, officers gained access to the resident and found the suspect dead.

Various reports, including from the Los Angeles police scanner, indicated that the suspect was Honeycutt, a former UCLA standout who played in the NBA with the Sacramento Kings.

Honeycutt was a standout at UCLA, averaging 12.8 points and two blocks per game during his sophomore season of 2010-11, a year in which he was named co-MVP.
