John Calipari Credits Himself for Brandon Knight’s Winning Shot

It wasn’t quite as bad as Melo tipping his hat to himself in this infamous quote, but Kentucky coach John Calipari was pretty conceited after his team upset Ohio State Friday. With the game tied following a Jon Diebler three pointer, Coach Cal allowed his offense to run a play without calling a timeout to stop the game.

The result was point guard Brandon Knight sinking yet another winning shot late in the game, giving Kentucky a 62-60 win.

When asked about not calling a timeout to set things up, Calipari deflected credit to his player took the credit for the decision. Speaking about his decision, Cal answered “How bout, he don’t make a shot, he makes one three, and I still have all the faith in him that he’s going to make that play. I don’t want to call a timeout and give them a chance to switch. We know what we’re doing — we do it in practice every day. So I like to go home with timeouts.”

I was with him on the part about them practicing that and knowing what they’re doing, but he loses me when he praises himself for having faith in his player. I got it John, that was a smart move that paid off. But you can leave it to us to point out how smart you are instead of telling us so. Let’s try a little modesty next time, OK?

How does he take credit for it himself? Your just another fucking OSU nutsucker who are pissed he beat you. HE beat you. Took your little tickles, and made stomped them into catshit. HE DOES THE SAME EVERY GAME, AND EVERY MORON WHINER ASKED THE SAME QUESTION. He doesn’t like to call timeouts in these situations, because if allows the opposing defense to set up. He has said this over and over and over, and yet the losers never hear it. This time, he was a little pissed at being asked again. HE has faith in his players, as opposed to Pitino, Knight, Williams type of coaches who must call every bowel movement.

It’s also why every year he gets the best of the best point guards on his teams. THEY LIKE THAT HE HAS FAITH IN THEM.

He never once pointed out ‘how smart’ he was. Haters gotta hate. Bad losers gotta bitch.

How dumb are you, not one time did he take credit for winning, he only let all the people smart enough to read and understand simple english that he believes his players are smart enough to make a play without letting the defense set up, which could be a disavantage. sometimes it works ,sometimes it won,t work, but he BELIEVES in the team. people like you just hate it that the Cats are still winning, get over it.

He didn’t say a single thing about taking credit for Knight. He simply said he had complete confidence in him, the team knew what they wanted to do, and they were ready. Nothing arrogant about that!

“I still have all the faith” what do you call that?

I view that as nothing more than a simple comment indicating he has faith in Brandon Knight and his team to follow the plan. I don’t see anything at all wrong with that.
