Yanick Moreira cries in postgame interview (Video)
Yanick Moreira was in tears at his postgame press conference following SMU’s 60-59 loss to UCLA in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday.
The senior center jumped up to grab a shot attempt by Bryce Alford in the final 20 seconds of the game and was called for goaltending, which gave UCLA three points and the lead. It was a controversial call to be sure, and Moreira apologized for his mistake.
I would like to apologize for all the SMU fans as senior I shouldn't make those type of mistake.. I'm really sorry

He was clearly heartbroken as he felt he was the reason why his team lost.
These guys don't deserve it . It really hurts . All those mile run in the summer all those 2 a day to end my college career like this

You really have to feel badly for him. That was an instinctual move and though it was a mistake, it wasn’t terribly egregious. Hopefully he won’t let it define him.
