Alabama supposedly ‘scared’ of trick plays Washington runs

The only way Washington stands a chance at pulling off an upset against Alabama in the College Football Playoff is to get creative, and Nick Saban is apparently preparing for the Huskies to do just that.

Washington coach Chris Petersen is known for his willingness to take risks and affinity for trick plays. Dave Mahler of Sports Radio 950 KJR in Seattle says he was told by a “coaching buddy” that Alabama’s staff is extremely concerned about what Peterson might throw its way.

Preparing extensively is one thing, but for some reason I find it hard to believe that Saban is “scared sh–less” of anything. That seems like a bit of an exaggeration.

Peterson was the head coach at Boise State when the Broncos defeated Oklahoma in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl. As many of you remember, the play call that won the game took some guts.

Washington is more than a two-touchdown underdog against Alabama, so it’s safe to assume they are going to take some chances on New Year’s Eve. But if you ask Saban if he’s frightened about the prospect of trick plays, we know the exact type answer you’re going to get.
