Chad Kelly featured in alleged marijuana photo
For the second time this year, a top Ole Miss football player has been caught up in a scandal involving a photo with marijuana. This one involves Chad Kelly.
A Twitter user named Hudson Wright shared a photo on Twitter Thursday that appears to be a screenshot from Snapchat showing the Ole Miss QB at a table where marijuana was seemingly present. The Snapchat user who shared the photo captioned it, “Blunts with chad kelly.” It’s unclear who posted the original image to Snapchat or how it made its way to Wright’s Twitter account.
Kelly is out for the season after tearing his ACL and lateral meniscus in his right knee in Ole Miss’ win over Georgia Southern. Kelly had thrown for 2,758 yards, 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions while rushing for five TDs prior to his injury. He is considered a risky NFL Draft prospect given his character issues, which now includes the potential use of drugs as well as his misbehavior at his brother’s football game. Keep in mind that Kelly eventually ended up at Ole Miss after being kicked off the team at Clemson for incidents such as this one.
Kelly could always claim that it’s not him in the photo nor that he was involved in any use of marijuana. But a photo like this will probably affect his draft stock, though not as much as it did for his former Ole Miss teammate.
