Charlie Strong is key witness in Louisville booster’s divorce case

Charlie Strong Texas

University of Louisville trustee member Jonathan Blue is going through a divorce, and the former head coach of the Cardinals football team has found himself involved with the proceedings.

WDRB reports that Blue’s attorney, Ann Oldfather, has asked a judge to compel Charlie Strong to testify in Blue’s divorce case with wife Tracy Blue. Blue’s lawyer has labeled Strong a “key witness” to Tracy’s “repeated behavior and activities that are inconsistent with being a role model and responsible caretaker” for the couple’s two teenaged daughters.

Oldfather is asking Strong to turn over emails, text messages and other correspondence with Tracy Blue and with anyone else about her since 2012. Oldfather also requests that Strong return clothing and a Movado watch Tracy allegedly gave to him. In addition, the legal team would like to see records of Strong’s air travel and planning calendars since 2012.

Jonathan Blue, a major donor to Louisville, is requesting sole custody of his two daughters. Tracy Blue claimed in a affidavit that the couple attempted to resolve their disputes and was unsuccessful, at which point Jonathan terminated use of her credit cards and prevented her from being able to provide food for herself and the couple’s children.

Jonathan Blue owns The Voice Tribune, and Tracy claims she was unfairly removed from her position with the publication while her husband says she was “merely granted the honorary title of publisher” and not an actual employee of the company.

It’s unclear exactly how Strong is involved. We haven’t heard any rumors similar to the nasty ones that surfaced with this college coach, but the court documents certainly hint at some shady behavior.

Jonathan and Tracy have been married since 1998.
