One Florida player is said to have snitched on two of his teammates, leading to their suspension on Wednesday.

The Gators on Wednesday announced that running back Jordan Scarlett and wide receiver Rick Wells have been suspended indefinitely.

The two join eight other players suspended for the team’s opening game, seven of whom are implicated in a credit card fraud scandal.

The suspension of seven players for the opener was announced over two weeks ago. So why did two more get added this week?

Spectrum Sports’ Zach Aldridge reports that a Gators player implicated Scarlett and Wells in the fraud scandal, which is being investigated by school police.

Florida opens its season on Saturday in Arlington against Michigan. The Gators made more news on Wednesday by finally announcing a starting quarterback for the game. Redshirt freshman Feleipe Franks will start.
